Introduction to Winter Climbing in scotland

Our two day Scottish Winter Climbing courses are designed to be adventurous, informative and fun whilst giving you the opportunity to develop and advance your winter climbing skills.
Perfect for novice winter climbers and those wishing to advance and progress their winter mountaineering skills and knowledge.

We are spoilt for choice with some excellent venues for winter climbing in Scotland. Our highly skilled, experienced and qualified staff will ensure that you get the most from your experience with us. We will design a course specifically to suit your needs and aspirations and include the following-

• Mountain weather forecasts
• Avalanche forecast and awareness
• Using your ice axe’s on technical ground, snow, rock, turf and ice.
• Using your crampons on technical ground, snow, rock, turf and ice.
• Safe and efficient movement on snow and steep ground
• How to approach routes safely
• Basic ropework for multi pitch climbing

All of our courses are run by qualified and experienced instructors who hold either the Winter Mountain Leader (WML) award or the Mountain Instructor Certificate (MIC)


Our two day courses will run in the Cairngorms National Park or an area close by depending on conditions.
