Introduction to Winter Walking

Our two day Scottish Winter Skills courses are designed to be fun and informative giving you the opportunity to develop the essential hill walking skills required for staying safe during winter.

Perfect for novice winter walkers and those wishing to transfer their summer mountain adventures into a winter environment with the following areas being covered.

• Mountain weather forecasts
• Avalanche forecast and awareness
• Winter navigation techniques
• Safe and efficient movement on snow
• Using crampons and an ice axe
• Personal equipment and what to carry
• What to do in an emergency.

Cost - £140 p/person for 2 days*

*Based on a minimum group size of 4

All of our courses are run by qualified and experienced instructors who hold either the Winter Mountain Leader (WML) award or the Mountain Instructor Certificate (MIC)

*Our two day courses will run in the Cairngorms National Park or an area close by depending on conditions.
