What is Coasteering?
Coasteering is one of the most popular activities we offer at Adelong Outdoor Education. It’s a perfect mix of adrenaline, nature and adventure. Even though it’s one of our most popular activities, it’s one that we get many questions about – what exactly is coasteering? Can anyone do it? Isn’t it dangerous?
In this post, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about it in South Devon.
What is Coasteering?
It is a predominantly water-based activity where you will traverse cliff edges, explore gullies and, if you’re up for it, some deep water cliff jumps!
It’s a fun and exciting activity to get you up close and personal with the coastline, which would be otherwise inaccessible!
Who can go Coasteering in South Devon?
Anyone can go Coasteering! It’s an accessible activity that can be made as easy or challenging as you want. You will need to be able to swim, however, but our experienced instructors will teach you how to enter and exit deep water, and safety cliff jump (if you choose to!)
This is a great activity for people who want an adventure and to explore the South Devon coast like you’ve probably never seen it before.
Is Coasteering in South Devon dangerous?
Not if go with an experienced instructor. As with most things we do in life, there’s always an element of risk involved – but we give detailed safety breifings, provide safety equipment and meticulously plan our journey.
Your safety is our number one priortiy while you’re out adventuring with us. We make sure to stick to the safest terrain along the coastline, while also making sure you have a fun adventure.
