Women Only Winter Skills Courses in Scotland

We love sharing our passion for the outdoors with everyone and have recognised that there is a growing demand for Women Only Winter Skills courses. Our Women Only courses are delivered by women for women in a positive and supportive environment allowing you to get the best from your experience with us.

Our Scottish Winter Skills courses are designed to be fun and informative giving you the opportunity to develop the essential hill walking skills required for staying safe during winter.

Perfect for novice winter walkers and those wishing to transfer their summer mountain adventures into a winter environment with the following areas being covered.

• Mountain weather forecasts
• Avalanche forecast and awareness
• Ice axe use and self-arrests
• Using crampons and footwork in the snow
• Safe and efficient movement on snow
• Personal equipment and what to carry
• Winter navigation techniques
• What to do in an emergency

 All of our women’s winter courses are run by qualified and experienced female instructors who hold either the Winter Mountain Leader (WML) award or the Winter Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor (WMCI).

Our two day Scotland Winter Skills courses are run in the Cairngorms National Park or an area close by depending on conditions.

Our three day Scotland Winter Skills courses are run in the Cairngorms National Park with one of your days including a winter mountain journey. Our three day courses allow a little more time to consolidate and deepen your knowledge and understanding of the Scottish Winter Mountains.
